The Regions of Ashenfall
In April 2025 the game launched into Early Access with the first Dragon General, Velgar, and the first two regions: Brynmoor and Ghornfell.
You'll traverse across a vast and diverse land: from the mournful ruins of Brynmoor, whose serene peace is often shattered by the roar of dragons, to the Stormtouched Highlands where lightning strikes relentlessly and swiftly. From the realm of Death called Fellhollow, to the dark and sinister fortress of Dowdun Reach. Finally you'll traverse the Umbral Sands, a corrupted desert with unrelenting heat and a fiery Red Dragon ruling over it.
In December, the first Major Update "Fellhollow" arrived with the Farming skill, a new building kit, two new NPCs and a shop for trading Soul Fragments with Death himself.
In March, the next Major Update added a new region, Dowdun Reach, alongside 4 more quests and a new boss to overcome in the legendary Black Knight Titan.
The latest and largest Major Update, Umbral Sands, introduced a region inspired by the Kharidian Deserts of RuneScape, with the Kalphite Queen and her brood, Fuzan the Fire Dragon and the Kot'Haar, sentient golems of Obsidian, given life by an Elder Artefact.
The Scorned Wilderness region was also added. This area includes "The Hub" which is a new area which players can build in, and the Raid area which does not permit building, because of the big dragon.
